Needs & Goals

One of the biggest challenges with the BrandMegaphone system is that while similar features were required for publishers, businesses and agencies, the overall workflow had to remain consistent. Since we only had one engineer on the team, we had to keep our version 1.0 quite simple yet easy enough to guide our clients, writers, and editors throughout the system without requiring too many questions for our admin team. As such, we split the system up into two columns: the first column would give a brief explanation of each step in the creative process and the second column would provide the choices or text areas for clients to fill in.

Publishers

  • White-labelling the system so they can use this with their clients.
  • The ability to provide salespeople at a publication with a simple step-by-step solution for requesting content, a simple review process that gives access to their clients, and payment solution.
  • Quality control and back and forth reviews between editors, clients, and our creative team is paramount.
  • Fast notifications process over email for salespeople at a publication, clients, writers, and editors.
  • The ability to request custom content.
  • The ability to download this content in a ready to use format including photos and video.

Businesses

  • The ability to request custom content quickly.
  • Quality control and back and forth reviews between editors, internal teams, and our creative team is paramount.
  • Fast notifications process over email for the internal teams, writers, and editors.
  • The ability to request custom content.
  • The ability to download this content in a ready to use format including photos and video.

Agencies

Writers

Research

In order to get a full grasp of what competitors were doing in this space, we needed to do a thorough review of the major players in this space, what kinds of features they included, how we could differentiate our product offering from theirs, and what features our clients wanted that other content marketing companies were not offering.
